“I knew I wanted to be a nutritionist when I was fifteen years old. I watched helplessly as a close friend struggled with an eating disorder, hoping that I might be able to help her. As my interest in nutrition grew during my college years, so did my fascination with diets. I thought that calories and fat grams were all that mattered. I seemed healthy, but I was thinking about food all of the time. In graduate school I was introduced to Intuitive Eating, a gentle yet effective approach that taught me how to start listening to my body’s internal signals, not the external rules that diets impose. Around this time I became ill with digestive issues and chronic pain. After many years of study and experimentation with conventional and alternative approaches to heal myself, I discovered the LEAP program, which helps clients find relief from food sensitivities that can wreak havoc on the body and spirit. I am now a Certified LEAP Therapist and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and utilize my years of clinical expertise and self discovery to help my clients."
